In the framework of the EU funded program « Information and promotion of PDO and PGI products within the EU Market (Greece, Germany, France), with the title: « THE EUROPEAN FOOD MASTERS – TASTE THE AUTHENTIC / EU FOOD MASTERS », the Agro-Nutritional Cooperation participated in the International Exhibition « SIAL PARIS 2022 », supporting its entrepreneurs–members with the goal to promote and project the PDO & PGI products of the island of Crete.
In addition, with a view to extroversion and aiming at a wider placement of the local Cretan, high quality PDO and PGI products in the global market, the Agro-Nutritional Cooperation of the Region of Crete participated in this International Exhibition with great success judging by the response and positive comments from the thousands of visitors.
With this new action, the Agro-Nutritional Cooperation wants to « build » on the previous results, to use the contacts it created through the previous program and to capitalize the efforts for the benefit of all producers of PDO / PGI products and entrepreneurs–members of the Agro-Nutritional Cooperation.
The aim of this action is to inform consumers in Greece, Germany and France about the European quality systems PDO and PGI. These EU quality systems will be promoted through a basket of PDO and PGI products from the island of Crete.
This action will inform about and promote the PDO and PGI products of Crete. The basket of products includes all the basic categories of goods which form the pillars of the Cretan and Mediterranean diet. More specifically, the cart includes the following:

- P.D.O. “Pefkothymaromelo Kritis” (Cretan pine & thyme honey)
SIAL is one of the largest food and beverage exhibitions in the world and is held every 2 years in the Paris exhibition centre « Paris Nord Villepint »
In this year’s exhibition, a total of more than 7.000 exhibitors from 108 countries participated, while business and non- business visitors reached app. 300.000.
From Crete, eight companies presented their products at the Agro-Nutritional Cooperation stand, attracting the interest of buyers as well as consumers.
The President of the Board of Directors Mr. Stavros Tzedakis and board member Mr. Manolis Chnaris accompanied the mission.
